Swedish punsch

punch[1]Punsch is a classic Swedish drink enjoyed both hot and cold. In the mid-eigthteenth century, people made punsch at home by blending arrack, sugar, water, tea and lemon. The mixture was drunk steaming hot. Only in the mid-ninteenth century was punsch bottled, and then it became fashionable to drink it chilled. By the turn of the century, punsch had become something of a Swedish national drink.
